Manchester United Targets Randal Kolo Muani Amid Striker Search Setbacks

Mansion Sports Manchester United is reportedly turning its attention toward Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani as the club continues its urgent search for a reliable striker ahead of the 2025–2026 Premier League season.

With limited options available for a traditional center-forward role, the Red Devils are working swiftly to identify suitable alternatives.

Failed Pursuits Push United Toward a New Priority Target

Manchester United has already missed out on several of their key striker targets. Notable names such as Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitiké, and Viktor Gyökeres have joined Premier League rivals Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal respectively.

Although United had previously shown interest in Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku, the Frenchman is more commonly deployed as a winger or attacking midfielder. As such, he does not fit the profile of a pure central striker that the club currently requires.

With only three weeks remaining until the new Premier League campaign begins, pressure is mounting on the club's recruitment team to secure a solution for the front line. According to ESPN, Manchester United has now identified Randal Kolo Muani as their leading target.

Kolo Muani Not in PSG’s Plans, Seeks Fresh Challenge

Randal Kolo Muani, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus, is reportedly not part of manager Luis Enrique’s strategic plans at PSG for the upcoming season.

Since joining the Parisian club at the start of the 2023–2024 season, the French international has managed only 11 goals across 54 appearances—figures widely considered below expectations.

However, his loan spell at Juventus offered more promise. In 22 matches, he found the back of the net 10 times and played a key role in the Italian side’s campaign in the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, contributing two goals and one assist before Juventus exited in the Round of 16.

An Experienced Option at a Reasonable Price

At 26 years of age, Kolo Muani is reportedly eager to move on from PSG and is open to joining Manchester United either through a loan deal or a permanent transfer. His estimated market value stands at approximately €50 million (£43.4 million; $58 million).

Although his goal-scoring record may not be as prolific as Hugo Ekitiké or Viktor Gyökeres, Kolo Muani brings the advantage of experience, having competed in three of Europe’s top five leagues and holding a natural striker’s profile.

He has also earned 31 caps for the French national team over the past three years, registering nine goals—further solidifying his credentials as a seasoned and effective forward.

A Potential Upgrade Over Zirkzee and Højlund?

When compared to United’s current young strikers, Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund—who together managed just seven league goals last season—Kolo Muani’s presence could significantly enhance the club’s attacking output.

Should the deal go through, he would add a new dimension to Manchester United’s forward line under manager Ruben Amorim, who is already set to work with new offensive signings Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.

Thanks to his experience, relatively sharp scoring instincts, and clear desire to depart PSG, Randal Kolo Muani presents himself as one of the more realistic and promising candidates to fill the crucial striker role at Old Trafford.
